Heavy Equipment Moves Easily with Versa-Lift

91ÌÒÉ«ÊÓƵ Adds Versa-Lift 40/60 For Moving Heavy Equipment

To provide customers with efficient handling and transportation of heavy machinery and equipment, GEM Inc., of the 91ÌÒÉ«ÊÓƵ of companies, recently added the Versa-Lift 40/60 forklift to its array of specialty equipment.

With increasing demand for lifting heavier loads, Versa-Lift 40/60 is the ideal solution to many industrial demands. The 40/60 can lift up to 40,000 pounds with the base retracted or up to 60,000 pounds with the base extended. The machine incorporates maneuverability and power, with capabilities that include picking up large pieces like chiller units and setting them on upper floors of facilities.

Benefits of Versa-Lift 40/60

This equipment has features that make it a superior choice to traditional forklifts, including:

  • Forklift boom attachment—for full capacity lifts to full height.
  • Horizontal boom—telescoping out and back with swiveling lifting eye.
  • 2-Speed transmission—for extra power and precise movements in lower speeds.
  • Hydrostatic drive—for more control and smooth acceleration.
  • Extendable frame—for more lifting capacity.
  • Direct lift mast—two-stage hydraulic lift cylinder lifts without chains.

A unique feature of the Versa-Lift is the ability to operate the unit remotely. This allows the operator a view from all angles of the machine, for additional safety. Using the 40/60 also minimizes the number of people needed to do the job, minimizing cost.

When precision alignment and heavy rigging is required, or where there are challenging or confined spaces, GEM’s highly trained millwrights bring their expertise to bear, ensuring these demanding jobs run smoothly.

When to Call on the Versa-Lift 40/60

Equipment setting, moving, dismantling, or installation is critical to many industrial operations. GEM recently used the Versa-Lift 40/60 to move more than 1,000 trucks of glass manufacturing equipment into a newly built plant in northwest Ohio. Specifically, the Versa-Lift was used to load heavy, larger pieces of equipment and move and unload them across the plant for placement in final fixed locations.
